Email us at: sonny@sonnychilds.com or call us at 1-800-973-2646. Ministry Description
Sonny Childs is a graduate of both Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould, Arkansas and Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He began his full-time work for the Lord as a youth minister responsible for a group of over 100 young people. In the years before and after, he was blessed to serve as pulpit minister for growing congregations in Arkansas and Illinois.
In 1996, God allowed Sonny to realize his dream to work as a full-time traveling evangelist. God used his books and motivational speaking abilities to open many doors for service across the nation. Today he is a nationally known author and speaker among the churches of Christ. He has been blessed to speak on TV, radio, in public schools, prisons, and to numerous religious groups.
This ministry publishes books, Bible study guides and newsletters that are used in Bible classes around the world. His materials can be found in many Christian bookstores throughout the nation, in the "21st Century Christian Catalog" and on the "Publications" page of this site.
Each year, Sonny and his family travel from coast to coast conducting Gospel meetings, family values seminars and youth events. As a unique part of their ministry, Sonny, Cindy, Bryson and Gabriel travel together as a family. Cindy homeschools their boys allowing them to accept engagements throughout the entire year.

Engagement Information
Engagement Fees: This ministry is based upon faith. There are no set fees or financial expectations when accepting engagements. We do, however, request three things of congregations wishing to hold a meeting:
1. Lodging, travel expenses and food. Sonny, Cindy, Bryson and Gabriel travel as a family.
2. Donation, of whatever amount the congregation can afford.
3. Opportunity to make books and materials available should the leadership feel it would be helpful. Sonny has written over 30 books on various subjects to complement his sermons.
Weekend Workshops
The Power of PowerPoint
“A picture is worth a thousand words.” Jesus knew and used this principle long before it was “a wise old adage.” He pointed to a fruitless tree to illustrate the tragedy of an unproductive life. He took a child on His knee to show the value of innocence. Jesus, the greatest of all teachers, knew the value of a visual illustration.
Weekend Workshops employ the same techniques that Christ used in the first century. With a PowerPoint presentation, the audience can both see and hear messages that impact the senses and, thereby, take root in the heart.
Should you decide to host a Weekend Workshop, please know that the Sonny Childs Ministries is able to provide all that is necessary for the PowerPoint presentation (projector, computer, screen). Please consider giving your congregation the opportunity to experience the power of one of these PowerPoint presentations.
Topics for Weekend Meetings
Islam- America’s Babylon?
Islam is now the fastest growing religion in the world. Islam is coming! Is your family ready? This important seminar both informs and prepares Christians to face the threat of the Muslim world view.
G.A.S. Can Set a Church on Fire!
Churches all across America are closing their doors for lack of interest. We can and must return to the first-century approach to church growth. This important seminar uses the acronymn G.A.S. from Acts 2 to revisit the biblical keys to growing a church.
It Takes a Family!
The very definition of marriage is now under attack. As “alternative lifestyles” grow in popularity, it is vitally important that we both know and defend God’s plan for the family. This important seminar defines roles within the home and offers solutions for “disfunctional families.”
Parenting and Loving It!
The average child in America today spends more of their waking hours in an institution than they do with their own parents. As a result, it is estimated that 45% of our young people walk away from the church upon graduation from high school. This important seminar helps parents and grandparents rediscover the joys of raising children in the Lord.
Simple Soul Winning
Soul winning is as simple as making friends and introducing them to your best friend, Jesus. This important seminar provides information and inspiration that can turn any Christian into a dynamic soul winner.
I’m A Christian, Now What?
Don’t convert them and desert them. This seminar is a must for churches that wish to develop an effective new converts program.

There is nothing admirable about a wasted life. This series targets several of the role model rejects of the Bible and presents stern warnings about the way life has an ugly ending when it is not lived by God’s standards.
Teens Can Be Soul Winners
Teens are not the church of tomorrow. If they are Christians they must be expected to act as the church of today. This series gives teens the motivation and material to make them effective soul winners.

If You Dance With the Devil..."
This sobering series addresses the dangerous world of the occult.

Bible Geography
Location is everything! This important series helps young people remember the location of important events in the Bible.
Other Topics
Since Sonny has over 25 years of experience of working with young people, he is often asked to address many subjects other than the ones listed above. From there we traveled to DeRidder, LA, then to Glenmora, LA, where I spoke 7 times at two different youth events. On the Sunday between these events I was also blessed to speak 3 times at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ. Our month ended with mixed emotions. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my father was admitted to a hospital in Evansville, IN, and his gall bladder removed. On the other hand, the day before he was released from the hospital, the family and I were blessed to travel to Branson, MO, for a mini-vacation. Some very generous friends provided this trip for us and we felt very blessed the down time after a very busy year. In all, November gave us the opportunity address 16 audiences and witness 1 public response to the Lord's invitation. Toward the end of the month we celebrated Christmas with both sides of the family. Our very blessed year ended with the M.A.P. Retreat on December 28 through January 1. Approximately 65 people attended and, as usual, it was a great spiritual treat. This year's event included guest speaker, Don McGee, several youth speakers, the awarding of 5 M.U.G.G.head mugs (This acronym stands for Memorizing to Understand God's Greatness.) and a marvelous celebration of song and prayer to ring in the new year.
