Reading Assignment
Lesson 8

Q: What is the secret to home management?

A: Here are four Things I learned from other women:

1. While cleaning house and taking care of the children, be thankful that God has given you this way of helping your husband so he can go out and do his best to serve God while providing for you.

2. The old adage “find a place for everything and keep everything in its place” was taught to me and practiced by my mom. If you teach your children at an early age to put up what they just finished playing with, it makes cleaning up much easier in the long run!

3. Last thing before bed or first thing in the morning, straighten up and clean any messes that were left undone then plan your menu or schedule for the day.

4. Practice the 10 second, 30 second, or 60 second tidy with your family. It’s amazing what can be accomplished in such a short amount of time and your kids learn that cleaning can be fun!

I’d like to be able to say that we have always followed these ideas, but we aren’t perfect. I will say that life has always been less stressful when we did them, because it’s much easier to be organized than to live in disorganized chaos.
