Lesson 9
Q: What is the secret to budgeting?
A: There are several versions of budgets you can use –
- The $0 based budget (Ex: take all of your income, budget it out until you have a zero balance)
- The percentage-based budget (Ex: live off 70%, give God 20%, save 10%)
- The cash envelope budget (Ex: convert your income in cash, divide it into envelopes for each category of your budget. This approach helps you monitor the output of money and thereby not overspend.)
The key to family budgeting is to decide on a budget, make a budget, stick with that budget, and put God first in whichever budget you choose.
Thought Question: Why is it important to your family’s spiritual peace to have a disciplined budget?
